So it’s that time of the year again, dark mornings, short days, dark nights nothing but Christmas ads on the TV and Mrs Surfer and I are starting to have thoughts about our next holiday in the sun!
We have had many holidays both on Mainland Spain and also on the beautuful baleric island of Majorca but the Canary Islands have always appealed to us and in particular we really fancy a visit to Tenerife.
Tenerife is the largest of the Spanish Carnary islands so this time around we’ll probably hire a small car and do some exploring, there are so many places to visit and experience on the island including the golden sands of Costa Adeje and the black volcanic sands which are a feature of the northern parts of the island.
Icod de los Vinos as the name suggest is a great place to sample local wines and is also home to a famous tree called Dragon Dracaena commonly called the Dragon Tree. This is certainly the oldest tree in Tenerife, which some tales say is over 1,000 years of age!
Tenerife is a volcanic island and is generally warm all year round with daytime temperatures rarely falling below 20 degrees, night-times can be cooler in winter months
There is plenty to do on Tenerife so i t covers a wide variety of tastes, there is an abundance of flora and fauna and of cause beautful beaches for sun bathing, swimming, boating and a variety of water sports.
We’ve had a good look online with the help of our friend Mr. Google and this site offer a great selection of Tenerife Deals so we’d best get organised and pick some dates – we can’t wait to feel the sun again!
