Review: King’s Chamber Restaurant, Thorne

We haven’t been out for a while so this Friday despite it being wet, rainy, grey and dreary we decided to treat ourselves to a lunch out and thought we’d try a restaurant which is local to us – King’s Chambers in Thorne (http://www.marstonsinns.co.uk/inns/kings-chamber-doncaster). The restaurant is located just off the M18 on a small industrial estate / retail park which also boasts a B&M’s and ALDI and a McDonalds.

Mrs Surfer opted for their classic burger (but splashed out and opted for cheese and bacon as an extra!) whilst I chose the Wild West sounding Yee-Ha! Burger. As is usual with the Marston’s chain you have to queue at the bar to order drinks and place your meal order, paying in advance, hopefully one day they’ll catch up with Wetherspoons and allow ordering at the table via an App!

The food arrived after not too much of a wait and was very well presented and was tasty too! The Yee-Ha is a burger Stacked with pulled pork and beef chilli, Monterey Jack cheese and sour cream loaded with little gem lettuce, a slice of beef tomato and beer battered onion rings (unless otherwise stated). Served with chips and homemade kale slaw on the side.

This location also boasts a motel on site (The lodge) which is a great idea and not something we’d seen at a Marstons’ site before, but something we’d definitely look for in our future travels! Booking a room grants you a 20% discount off your food bill so seems to be a winner all round!
