Lunch at The Red Lion Hotel – Doncaster

Having spent a couple of hours wandering the shops and market last Friday we decided a nice spot of lunch would be in order! A quick google of local places to eat vs our location pointed out that the Red Lion (Wetherspoons) was less that 90 yards away just round the corner from where we were so it seemed a logical choice 😀

As it was lunchtime and also Market day in Doncaster the pub was fairly busy but we quickly found an empty table and fired up the (Truly Brilliant) Wetherspoons Order & Pay App to browse the menus and place our order without having to queue at the bar 🙂

I settled for the “Rarebit Burger” and my wife chose the “Original gourmet grilled chicken burger” both of which came with chips and onion rings rounded off with a nice cold Pepsi.

The food came very quickly and was really nice – service was friendly, although we were asked twice if everything was OK (I’d soon say if it wasn’t!)

Value for money was great with the bill for two meals and drinks coming in at under £12, the food was really nice too and the pub had a nice relaxing ambience, wouldn’t hesitate to return again or to recommend it!
