Mrs Silver Surfer and I recently attended an event in East Markham and having treated ourselves to an overnight stay at the local Travelodge in Markham Moor we decided to round off the stay with one of the legendary Little Chef Olympic Breakfasts to set us up for the day!
The Little Chef is situated right next to the hotel and also has a brand new subway just inside.
It was below zero outside and sadly it wasn’t much warmer inside – even the few staff that we saw were wearing coats. The interior was decidedly run down and furnishings were worn and tired, in fact it looked like little have changed since the 70’s
We asked for a pot of tea with our breakfast and the tea was definitely the highlight of our visit. The Olympic breakfast was average at best with the eggs being on the rubbery side and enough potato to feed a coach party. The food wasn’t exactly hot, probably due to the venue being like a walk in fridge 🙂
Having enjoyed many of Little Chef’s Olympic Breakfasts over the years (decades) I was left a little disappointed with the meal we were served at Markham Moor and all things considered I doubt we’d be returning 🙁
