A new cafe has recently opened in our village so it seemed only fair that we should make our way over and give their full english breakfast a trial!
Situated in the heart of the village, a stones throw from the canal and the river Don “The Tattooed Goose” offers high quality food from locally sourced products. Parking is available beside the cafe (bit of a puddle problem when it rains though!.
Breakfasts are cooked to order and it’s possible to mix and match if you don’t like certain items or would prefer scrambled rather than fried eggs etc!
Mrs Surfer and I both opted for standard full english with a mug of tea and after a short wait the breakfast was served on a good sized square plate and consisted of 2 sausages (quality butchers!), black pudding, mushrooms, baked beans (Heinz in a ramikin) fried egg, fried bread, tinned whole tomatoes, home made hash browns and 2 rashers of bacon.
All the ingredients where delicious and you could definitely tell that quality counts, whiles not the cheapest breakfast around at £6.95 it really was worth every penny and we will definitely be back.
The tattoed goose are soon going to be open all day and evenings serving quality burgers etc and I really hope that they do well as they are a definite asset to our village!
